Test & Trials

There are lot of tests performed to validate the FAUSST performance. From tensile and sheer testing to fatigue testing. The knowledge gained from these tests are discussed with DNV GL as basis for a future approval process.

FAUSST has superior strength in comparison to adhesive joints.


With 4 FAUSST layers and a width of 50 mm an average failure load of over 10 kN is observed. That means that a Mini Cooper can be hanged from the specimen; and this with an overlap length of only 20 mm.


Therefore, less material in the overlap is needed when compared with an adhesive or riveted joint, resulting in a very weight efficient joint.
