The Schweißtechnische Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt Mecklenburg- Vorpommern GmbH (welding training and research institute) works as approved training centre for the German Welding Society and accreditates manufacturers. Additionaly, the SLV M-V is active in the field of research and development of technologies such as welding, cutting and similar processes. The R&D area works in competition free and contracted research project. SLV M-V is located in the Lasertechnologie- and transfer centre in Rostock, a competence center. For materials testing, the SLV M-V has an accredited testing laboratory. Their daily business is destructive and non-destructive testing, microscopy and quantitative and qualitative material identification.

Center of Maritime Technologies e.V.



The Center of Maritime Technologies e.V. (CMT) takes part actively in the field of lightweight materials in several national and European research projects. These projects are performed in close collaboration with the maritime industry, research institutions and universities. The main competence is the development of parameter models for production and scaling of materials and structures under ship and off-shore construction conditions. In addition, CMT has an extensive expertise in FRP production and integration within ship yard manufacturing conditions not only focusing on the material side, but also on the economic feasibility side.
